Community Support

SIGMA understands the importance of giving back to the community. We are proud to lend a hand wherever we can by offering up the support of our resources and our people to organizations and causes that make a real difference in our neighborhoods.

Flower City Habitat for Humanity (FCHH)

SIGMA employees helped build one of the first Habitat homes in Rochester’s inner city. SIGMA’s late-CEO, Dennis Alongi, also served as a long-time FCHH board member, and was instrumental in the construction of the La Martina house on the original site of his grandmother’s home. Today SIGMA continues to assist FCHH in direct mail and creative development, marketing activities and fundraising.

Hope Hall

Hope Hall is a private, non-denominational, not-for-profit school designed for students with special learning needs who consistently experience frustration in the traditional classroom setting. SIGMA’s support of Hope Hall began several years ago with a unique scholarship program funded entirely by SIGMA’s company snack store. Today the program continues to provide financial assistance to two students each year. SIGMA also provides periodic marketing and creative support for a number of Hope Hall programs and, most recently, we redesigned the school’s website.

Pluta Cancer Center

After the closing of Rochester’s Genesee Hospital, Pluta Cancer Center went off on its own and is now New York State’s only free-standing, not-for-profit cancer center. During its transition from Genesee Hospital, SIGMA supported the center on many fronts, including key marketing and public relations support and a total redesign of the center’s brand identity and website.
